FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — More than 300 guests from across New York gathered at Royal Palm in Farmingdale for the sold-out inaugural America’s Muslim Network Gala, an evening dedicated to honoring the Top 65 Most Influential Muslims of New York State.

The event brought together community leaders, elected officials, entrepreneurs, educators, healthcare professionals, nonprofit advocates, faith leaders, and professionals from a wide range of industries for a night celebrating achievement, leadership, and service within New York’s Muslim community.

One of the evening’s most notable features was the diversity of those in attendance. Muslims from numerous ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds came together under one roof, reflecting the rich tapestry of New York’s Muslim population. Attendees included individuals with roots in South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, and the United States, highlighting the unity and shared purpose that exists across the community despite different backgrounds and experiences.

The evening began with a red-carpet reception, media interviews, networking opportunities, and photography before guests entered the ballroom for the highly anticipated recognition ceremony. Each of the Top 65 honorees was individually recognized for their contributions and impact across New York State.

“This gala was created to celebrate the extraordinary accomplishments of Muslims throughout New York and to ensure their stories are documented and recognized,” said Kevin B. Shakil, Founder of America’s Muslim Network. “Our community is making an impact in every sector of society, and tonight was about celebrating those contributions while bringing people together.”

Several distinguished public officials attended the event, including Jumaane Williams, Yusef Salaam, Karines Reyes, Eric Gonzalez, Anthony Miranda, and Mamadou Sire Bah, representing Governor Kathy Hochul’s office.

Their presence underscored the growing civic engagement and influence of Muslim communities throughout New York State and reflected the increasing role Muslims are playing in public life, business, education, and community leadership.

The program featured a Qur’an recitation, community reflections, award presentations, and remarks from community leaders. Guests were also treated to an evening of fellowship, networking, and celebration while recognizing individuals who have demonstrated excellence in public service, business, education, law, healthcare, media, philanthropy, and community leadership.

America’s Muslim Network also recognized the many sponsors and community partners whose support helped make the evening possible, including Islamic Relief USA, The Halal Guide, Tekbytes Insurance Brokerage, the Law Office of Sara M. Pervez, the Law Office of Aminah Rashad & Associates, Jamal Law Group, Chaiwala, UIF, Pangea Caterers, City Light Events, Sip n Snacks, A Merisier Event Coordination and Design, and other valued supporters.

The gala showcased the strength of collaboration between Muslim-owned businesses, nonprofit organizations, professional services firms, and community institutions working together to uplift and empower communities across New York State.

Dinner was catered by Kababjees, with desserts and specialty offerings provided by Pangea Caterers and tea service provided by Chaiwala.

The gala marked a significant milestone for America’s Muslim Network, which continues to expand its mission of highlighting the stories, achievements, and issues impacting Muslims throughout New York and beyond.

Following the success of the event, America’s Muslim Network announced that nominations for the 2026 Top 65 Most Influential Muslims of New York State will open on June 1 and remain open through June 30. Organizers encourage community members from all backgrounds and professions to participate in the nomination process.

Organizers say the gala is expected to become an annual tradition celebrating leadership, fostering community connections, recognizing achievement, and inspiring future generations of Muslim changemakers across New York State.
