Muslim Coalition of New York Holds 16th Annual Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ Program in Jackson Heights
The Muslim Coalition of New York held its 16th Annual Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ program today in Jackson Heights, continuing a tradition that has brought the Muslim community together for more than a decade and a half.
Founded by Shaikh Shakil, the annual gathering is more than a celebration. Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ is an opportunity for Muslims to remember the life, character, and teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and reflect on the values he taught — compassion, mercy, service, generosity, and care for one another.
In a neighborhood as diverse as Jackson Heights, the gathering also represents something larger: Muslims coming together publicly and proudly around their faith and community. Families, scholars, community leaders, and residents gathered to express their love for the Prophet ﷺ while continuing a tradition that has now reached its 16th year.
For many, gatherings like this are also about passing these traditions on to the next generation, allowing young Muslims to experience their faith not only at home or in the mosque, but together as a community.
Sixteen years later, the message remains one of faith, unity, love, and service.
