Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Sign Historic Mutual Defence Pact

Kevin Shakil

September 17, 2025-Riyadh, America’s Muslim Network reports that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have formally signed a Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement, the first of its kind between the two long-time allies.

The pact declares that any attack on one nation will be treated as an attack on both, cementing a joint commitment to collective security. The agreement was finalized during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s state visit to the Kingdom, where he met directly with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) to seal the accord.

Officials from both sides emphasized that the deal strengthens decades of military and strategic ties, while sending a clear message of deterrence across the region.

The signing comes at a time of heightened instability in the Middle East, and reflects shifting alliances as Gulf nations seek stronger regional security guarantees.

In a joint statement, leaders affirmed:

“Any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both.”

This landmark pact is expected to reshape security dynamics across South Asia and the Middle East, with global powers watching closely.
