Tragedy has struck New York City as NYPD Officer Didarul Islam was fatally shot in Midtown in July 28th, 2025
Officer Islam, a proud Bangladeshi-American and devoted public servant, was responding to an incident when he was gunned down in the line of duty. His death marks a heartbreaking loss not only for the NYPD but for the Muslim and Bangladeshi communities he represented with honor and courage.
Community leaders and elected officials have begun issuing statements of mourning and solidarity. Details surrounding the shooting are still developing, and authorities have launched a full investigation.
